World Missions

Serving as an informational resource about the historic Yosemite Chapel (the oldest building in Yosemite), this site is maintained by Rev. John Paris, minister/chaplain for 37 years, including 14 years (1991-2005) at the chapel, who now provides Yosemite Weddings and Vow Renewals.

The church of Jesus Christ has been challenged by him, the one who loves us and who gave his life for us and came alive again, to "Go everywhere and announce the message of God’s good news to one and all" (Mark 16:15b, The Message). The Yosemite Chapel has sought to follow His command, beginning right here in Yosemite through “A Christian Ministry in the National Parks,” and then around the world through the financial and prayerful support of missionaries.
